Stormy Monday was written by T-bone Walker and first recorded in 1947 with a big band. It's a basic 12 bar blues but here I'm playing the version that Wayne Bennett and Bobby "Blue" Bland recorded… the chords are jazzier.

It's a basic 12 bar blues but here I'm playing the version that Wayne Bennett and Bobby "Blue" Bland recorded… the chords are jazzier… It seems to be the most played version though the Allman Brothers have a slight variation on it that's quite beautiful.
I always teach my students this song and pull out some of the solo riffs from T-bone to get them going on the blues. I'll post more info in a following blog post with a chord chart and chord diagrams.
